Some Black and White

The last shot is sort of a request from Momster, who was wondering what it would look like in B/W. I had actually taken a B/W shot, not the exact same framing but close.

i don't really like to look at picture #3. it's too "noisy" (i don't know if you can say so in english?) for my taste. no place to rest the eyes on, no real focus point, if you know what i mean...
(i felt the same unease when looking at the coloured version)

my favourite is #1.

Claudia,
I agree. In English we would call the photo "busy." I'm fascinated with tree roots but need to work on the best way to capture what I see.
Thanks for your comments!

i've had the same problem. when i look at roots of trees, i think " oh, how gorgeous, i must photograph these"
but when i look at the picture, it makes me uneasy. seems to be not right. there's a discrepancy between the picture in my head and the picture which the camera actually takes. (i'm often puzzled and annoyed by this. trying to "see, what the camera sees" is not as easy as it seems, don't you think?)
