Thanks, Claudia! Lucky for me, these birds were willing to sit very still for me. I use a Canon Zoom Lens 75-300mm. It doesn't have any image stabilization feature so I don't think the images are always as sharp as they could be. I am quite fortunate to live in an area that has many wonderful places to visit and photograph nearby. It's nice how my new hobby has pushed me into further exploring the area.

I found the sign that said I was near Old Anglers Inn...never saw the inn itself. Next time I think I'll stop in for lunch.

That second bird is a cormorant - they seem to have made a resurgence in this area recently! I see them at the lake all the time lately.
