Wonderful Blue Sky

I was hoping to catch a nice red Cardinal against the blue sky. In the end I love the way the green looks with that deep beautiful blue background.

Shoes on a Wire

Years ago, I was driving with my young nephew in the car. Although he was known to be pretty chatty as a toddler he had entered a quieter stage. After about 3 hours of silence the first words he uttered were as he pointed toward a power line. "Shoes on a wire!" he called out before returning to a few more hours of silence.

A Bright Monday

“It gives one a sudden start in going down a barren, stony street, to see upon a narrow strip of grass, just within the iron fence, the radiant dandelion, shining in the grass, like a spark dropped from the sun”
Henry Ward Beecher

Roaches Run

Roaches Run is an interesting place along the George Washington Parkway near Reagan National Airport. The sign says it's a wildlife sanctuary. I haven't seen that much wildlife there, but I have seen many limo drivers. I guess it's proximity to the airport makes it a good place to take a break.

False Advertising

My new, "squirrel proof," bird feeder. It's made the squirrels very happy.
Even the young ones are enjoying the free grub.
I've seen this young squirrel around my house a few times. At first sight he's pretty scary looking.
I'm still hoping that the birds will get a chance at the feeder.

I Like Flowers...

...at least that's what a friend said after looking through some of my previous posts. She's right.
