Two pictures in the spirit of Halloween and one close up. It's hard to see the remnants of the spider web on the last one, I didn't see it until I took a closer look.
I took a stroll around a rose garden today. The trashcan with the rose petals was a pleasant splash of color. I actually took the rowhouse picture while sitting in my car at a stoplight.
I didn't realize how lucky I was with my shots yesterday, until I looked at what I took today. Yesterday I had a total of about 9 shots to choose from and loved every one of them. Today I had 40 to choose from and wasn't that happy with any of them. So today is a compromise of sorts. Two from yesterday's stroll around Eastern Market and one from a walk around Clarendon this afternoon.
It's been said that one should never go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. These pictures show what I was drawn to when I visited Eastern Market with a growling stomach.
Day 3 of rain. Much harder today than yesterday. If only pictures could capture the fabulous sound of a steady rainfall. The last picture may stand out as being somewhat out of theme, however it was a bucket of sidewalk chalk soaking in the rain that I stumbled upon.
More rain today. I didn't wander too far... stayed within about 100 yards of my front door. It's fun to go out and snap pictures at random and then to download them to see what I captured, it's usually something quite different than what I set out for. The last two pictures are the same view, just in varying states of color.
I was short on time today and the weather was wet so these pictures were taken of my car or from my car. I like the reflection of the trees in the first two that I took outside the car. The last was a shot from the driver's seat as I waited at a light. I seem to have a coincidental thread (stream?) of water running through my pictures.
I took all four of these pictures from pretty much the same spot. I find it interesting that one location can offer such a variety. I've always been a fan of black and white photography for the texture it adds to the picture.
Today I set off to Washington Marina to take some sailboat pictures. I've always liked the way the lines and masts form angles. As usual my attention was diverted by other views. No sailboat pictures today...maybe tomorrow.
